Since 2019, the Art and Culture Development Foundation of the Republic of Uzbekistan has organized the Samarkand Marathon — an international charity rae that blends sport, culture, and social impact.

The course leads runners through a breathtaking route past ancient mosques and madrasahs, the iconic blue domes of Registan Square, and the traditional mahallas of Samarkand, creating a truly unforgettable experience.

As part of the festival’s tradition, the opening day concludes with a vibrant concert featuring local artists and a headline musical act.

Samarkand Marathon not only promotes healthy living and boosts sports tourism in Uzbekistan, but also draws attention to the importance of making cultural and artistic spaces more inclusive for everyone.
